We checked the roads and junction features mapped within 2.2 miles of all 324 current practical driving test centres. This page brings those local snapshots together so you can see the national picture.
These are roads near test centres, not DVSA test routes. The figures do not tell you which roads an examiner will use or how difficult a test will be.
Which road types are nearby?
A road counts when any part of its mapped line falls within 2.2 miles of the test centre. The median distance uses only centres where that road type was found.

What these numbers mean
We downloaded OpenStreetMap features around each centre and measured straight-line distance to the nearest point on each mapped road. The snapshot was automatically checked on 22 August 2026.
OpenStreetMap is built by contributors and can be incomplete or out of date. Traffic lights and mini-roundabouts are counts of map points. A single real junction can contain more than one point, so these are not physical junction totals.
Labelled roundabouts are grouped by their OpenStreetMap name or reference before counting. Unlabelled roundabouts are not included in that figure. No statistic on this page measures driving-test difficulty, live appointment availability or routes used by examiners.
